zimg generates png or jpeg images from arbitrary formatted two-dimensional data. zimg is a command-line tool for interactive usage and for the usage in shell scripts. zimg is a fast converter.

Both plain unformatted ascii and a variety of binary input formats are supported. The input format is specified with command-line switches.

The output style can be configured with command-line switches. Switches for labelling and drawing a color scale are provided.
